Difference between coating and paint-

Coating is a thin outer layer.(Exam-3LPE in pipe mill,HSS on Field Joint Coating during pipe laying work etc Specially in pipe line) Measure by Coating Thickness Gauge mostly. while Paint is a substance that is applied as a liquid or paste, and dries into a solid coating that protects or adds color/colour to an object or surface to which it has been applied. Measure by DFT gauge after dry and In liquid state measure by WFT Example Primer thickness by WFT. As verbs the difference between coating and paint is that coating is (coat) while paint is (transitive) to apply paint to.
